Sound becomes
a shutter trigger.
veloSnap automatically triggers your connected Sony camera when it detects sound. Built for wildlife, birds, studio work, voice or clap commands, and events that tolerate normal phone, network, and camera latency.

Three steps from setup to capture
Connect the camera
Open the camera's PC Remote / Remote Shoot over Wi-Fi Direct screen, scan the connection code or enter the SSID and password, and veloSnap joins the camera's direct network.
Set the sound threshold
Pick the built-in, wired, or Bluetooth microphone, watch the live level, then auto-set the threshold or adjust it by hand.
Arm and capture
When sound rises above the threshold it sends the shutter command, then waits for the level to drop and the cooldown to pass.
A focused camera utility
Direct Sony camera connection
Command and event sessions over the camera's own Wi-Fi Direct network. No cloud service in between.
Live framing
Live view and camera readiness on your iPhone so you can frame the shot and check state before arming.
Flexible microphone input
Use the built-in microphone, a wired input, or a Bluetooth microphone, and switch inputs as your setup changes.
Threshold, delay, cooldown
Auto-set or manual threshold, an optional 0–2 s trigger delay, and a 0.5–5 s cooldown between triggers.
Background armed operation
Monitoring continues while explicitly armed in the background or with the iPhone locked, subject to iOS interruptions.
On-device processing
Microphone samples are analyzed in memory for level and threshold crossings. Audio is not recorded or transmitted.
Version 1.0 is sound-trigger-only. Trigger timing varies with the camera, firmware, iPhone, iOS, microphone route, radio conditions, and camera state, so veloSnap is not suitable for ultra-fast events.
No account, no analytics, no tracking
veloSnap has no account system, no ads, no analytics, no tracking, and no developer-operated backend. Microphone audio is not recorded and live-view frames are not saved or uploaded. The app does communicate with your camera over its local network. That is how it works.
